Samantha Lumang is an industrial designer and advocate for peace education. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and currently holds the role of Design Guru at GetCre8ive Corporation.
Since 2013, she has actively served as a Core Team Member and Youth for Peace Ambassador at the Teach Peace Build Peace Movement, a non-profit organization that aims to make every Filipino child and youth a peace hero. Samantha uses her creativity to spread the message of peace by creating designs, storybooks, songs, and peace rhymes that teach children and youth the art of peaceful living. She’s also the primary host of Peace Hero Kids TV, an online platform providing videos on mindfulness, conflict resolution, social-emotional learning, and more.
She wrote “Super Lolo Leo,” a storybook used during MHPSS sessions in Marawi, imparting resilience and peace-hero values. And composed songs like Tara Na Teach Peace Na and Lumiliwanag Sayo.
Samantha’s impact extends to the digital world as a Cyberpeace Champion by TPBPM and Google, reaching more than 400,000 young people on being mindful, peaceful, and responsible digital citizens.
Her efforts have earned her awards like the Gawad Kalinaw in 2016, the Peace Hero Award in 2017, the Delia Tetreault Mission Award – the Most Prestigious Award in Immaculate Conception Academy, and the Most Outstanding Student Leader at the 28th Gawad Benildyano Awards.
Samantha’s mission highlights the transformative influence of art in fostering a more peaceful Philippines through peace education.
